Wonders of the world

Telstra has this advert showing almost everyday on TV. At first you might laugh it off ,but then after some careful thought - it seems to be jeering at the Great Wall of China and the Asian food nasi goreng...Also right now there seems to be a plan to get the Opera House listed as one of the wonders of the World...does it deserve the honour of being listed as a wonder ? Maybe our SG Durian-shaped orchestra center at the esplanade park  below should be listed as well...

One more thing..
QVB - has started to celebrate xmas festive season by setting up the gigantic xmas tree. Just one point of note - don't understand how the tower clock has this feature of the convicts being flogged, punished based on the day of the week in the last photo.
See Link here. Why oh why do they celebrate convicts, something to be proud of in the heritage ?

Country that celebrates convicts !

Again in the Mitchell Library this Sunday - the exhibition -On the Run: Daring Convict Escapes celebrates the convicts who landed in aus. Most of the convicts who escaped either became bushrangers , harbored by the aboriginal ppl or were re-captured. It seems that if this goes on - the law and order of the land will never prevail - aus having the highest number of contact crimes in Asia Pacific.
