Just like "Merchant of Venice", seven pounds of flesh refer to the debt that needs to be paid and in this story's case, the debt of causing the death of six innocent lives in a car accident. The movie makes you re-think also the society treatment of blind people in general, as well as the conscience of drivers who caused fatal accidents and are still driving on the roads today without any tinge of regret.
I am not sure if this film will generate a copy-cat cult for some film-watchers for the better good of society (minus the gross suicide, of course). Afterall, there were quite a number of films which generated controversy by having people imitate and execute their actions copy-cat style (Think Superman, Escape from Alcatraz, Mission Impossible). But if you are still in two minds on the Organs donation Bill or Act, this is a definite MUST show to watch as it may change your mindset after watching.
